How to downgrade to 1.7

The brand new update 21.1 can be downloaded/automatically updated by joining into C4S (follow the instructions right below this), however there has been some problems of it not downloading automatically. TO DO THIS MANUALLY - go to https://cod4x.ovh/ and scroll down to the downloads tab. You will see 21.1 (or future patches depending on when you're reading this) with options for your operating system. I downloaded Windows Client 21.1 and put the .rar file into my CoD4 mods directory (as shown here, if you do not have a mods folder, simply create a new folder named Mods - 1) https://gyazo.com/ae4f62671412af6ca069db630b67b72c , https://gyazo.com/db346e91bf3f8f3ce38d63c383297f3c) Once in your mods folder, extract and open up the folder. There is a readme in there if need be. Click into the folder for the manual update, you will see the install.cmd (https://gyazo.com/b6acc66a19dab77f20efed9457e054dd) run that and you should be all good to go! When you load up CoD4, you should now see the current CoD4x 21.1 version in the lower right hand corner. (https://gyazo.com/cb69b7dc066b6ce6c75cb6959ca62b80)

At this rate, everything still works the same. However, all you really need to do, even if you just installed for the first time, is just connect into C4S (open your console with the tilde key and type '/connect 178.33.157.21:28958'). You'll join into a Shipment game, disconnect, and the prompt to download CoD4x will appear. Click install/accept/whatever it says, let it install and restart, and you'll be good to go! Those instructions are wrong for manually installing cod4x and some of those gyazo links are being flagged as malicious by my browser.

You don't need to create a mods folder and also the latest version of cod4x is under Annoucements -> Releases on the website. The 'Downloads' on the left side is just forums search tag... which is why it's listed under Tags.

After downloading cod4x_client_21_1.zip, unzip it and you'll find a folder named cod4-client-manualinstall_21.1 within. Copy this folder to your Call of Duty 4 folder. Open the cod4-client-manualinstall_21.1 folder and run the install.cmd file.

Well manually never worked, this was the only thing that worked for me and my anti virus never flagged it, only malware bytes browser extension.

Well if it works it works.

It was opposite for me when I reinstalled recently. I couldn't get the automatic download stuff to work and I had to do it manually. >.<

Manual and auto didn't work for me either, this was the only thing I found that worked
