Call of Duty 4 Server Setup - Please Help me
Hey guys, Straight off the bat i've been struggling to make a CoD4 server with Promod Live 211 on it.

I'll Tell you the problem first, then Ill try and list of the things I've done to Rectify it.

So when I make a Server (Through making a shortcut or just starting a Server through the game itself) My Friends (and I) are unable to connect to it.

So for Examples sake, lets say my IP Address from My ISP is 253.54.43.2 (Public IP) and my Internal LAN IP is 192.168.12 .

When I try to /connect [PublicIP] I get "Awaiting Connection" until it eventually Times out.
When I try to /connect [InternalLanIP] It goes straight into the game. (No worries, for 1 player)

So Firstly, I can RCON into the server from the Public IP as well as see it in the games server browser (When added to favorites). Additionally I can see it on GameTracker and It shows all the correct information for the server.

I am also a network engineering student so I have a fairly realistic grasp on how port forwarding UPnP and similar services work.

ALL PORTS are properly forwarded to my computers IP address (Static) and I've checked them with a port Checking tool, which confirmed again they were all done correctly. I also run a Plex server and a Minecraft Server which aren't experiencing any of the issues above.

After Playing with some server settings and messing with some Configs I decided all hope was lost and I should just set up LogMeIn : Hamachi and get that set up. Long story short it didnt solve the issue, even when /connect [HamachiIP] we were unable to get anyone into the server.

So With all hope seeming lost, I disabled my Firewall and gave it another go. Bam we were in business. Everyone could connect to the InternetIP and we played solidly for about 2 hours. After we were done I closed the server and played some other games.

When I started the server back up a few hours later, We were back to Square one and I cannot get it going.

So What have I tried since then?

Basic
-Enabling/Disabling windows firewall
-Double Checking ports
-Different Server Configs

Nek Level ♥♥♥♥
-Made a Windows XP Virtual Machine and set up CoD 4 there
-Made a bridged adapter and Set the internal IP to 192.168.0.253
-Changed my port forward settings to forward 28960 (and friends) to that address
-Disabled XP firewall

All of this has been to 0 Avail.

Please help, im tearing out hairs trying to solve this

Much love
ya boy

You've tried more than 100% of the people here would do, and you probably know more about this stuff than 100% of the people here. I don't think we can really help you (look at the level of discussion on some of the other threads, it's pretty embarassing).

Last try, install the Cod4 X server. It changes some stuff on how servers work, you never know, maybe it gets past your firewall. Either way it gives you more options to play around with. If that doesn't work either, I would suggest you ask around the Cod4 X forums. Maybe the developers can give you a proper answer.

Authorizeserver down.
I think you have to wait 30 minutes until it accepts clients without authserver.

Or set sv_authorizemode to -1 using Cod4 X right?
Alrighty guys I'll try both of those things soon. Thanks for getting back to me so soon
CoD4 X/1.8server is downloaded and Installed. Ran it the same way I ran my old server and made a Config exactly out of their guide.

Do I need to update my client also?

Always make sure you are running the latest version of the client. In this case that should be Cod4 X 15.3 (check the bottom right of the main menu).
