Game feels choppy
Okay so, first of all im pretty sure other players will have this problem also...

I run the game all maxed out in ATLEAST 50 FPS at any time, usually close to 80-90, but the game just doesn't feel right...it feels like im playing on 20-25 fps..it doesn't feel 60+ fps at all...

what can i do?

Go to http://www.newegg.com and get yourself a better PC. If you are having issues with a 9 yr old game, time to upgrade.

First of all, not everyone has the money to buy new PCs every now and then. I have 0 money to invest in new parts, or even a brand new PC.

As i mentioned earlier, WITH EVERYTHING MAXED OUT, i get ATLEAST 50 frames per second, and usually i run in 80-90 fps, BUT the game doesn't feel like that at all! It feels like 20-25...

You should be playing locked to (and aiming to achieve) 125 or 250 FPS in CoD4. I'd recommend turning your settings wayyy down.

/com_maxfps 150

You don't want 150 FPS though. The game's physics are tied to frame rate and when you use certain values (125, 250, 333) you can jump higher, shoot faster etc. and the game just feels wayyy smoother at those values.

It's an old bug that comes with the Quake 3 engine that CoD4 was built on.

So would 250 be good? like /com_maxfps 250

Well the game is kinda buggy at that point. It does also feel to me choppy although it shouldn't at 60FPS. However I doubt this bug is inherited from Quake3.

250 is perfect.

Yes, exactly. /com_maxfps 250

First off, are you actually hitting 250 FPS? If you use cg_drawfps 1, does it display 250?

Can you copy the contents of your config_mp to pastebin, please. I'll take a look through it and see if there's anything wrong with your settings.

If you are using Steam FPS counter, make sure it isn't displaying double what your actual FPS is. For some reason, it thought I got over 120 FPS on Counter-Strike: Source on my Surface 3 2GB, but I got a 60 FPS average in the video stress test for the game.

I wouldn't recommend yitch3 config unless you have a very, very low spec machine and can't maintain 125 FPS without it. It looks horrible and it's very difficult to spot enemies at times.
