No directional sound in Multiplayer
I get stereo audio fine in singleplayer, but no matter what settings I try, my sound in multiplayer is stuck in mono. I've tried reinstalling, and now I've tried updating my audio drivers--no change. I should also point out that it isn't just the positioning of in-game sounds that's messed up--the menu music plays in mono, too. Anybody know what to do?

Update your audio drivers.

My sound drivers are now up to date and the problem persists.

Delete the config files.

That was the first thing I tried, no dice.

Do you have MW2 or any other Cod games?

Just got on MW2, same problem.

What is your sound device?

"Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)"

What motherboard do you have? Is the sound card intergrated into the motherboard or is it a seperate dedicated one?

I don't believe my laptop has a dedicated sound card. Here's my dxdiag info: http://imgur.com/LCfIkN8

Where did you get the latest drivers from?
plastic 29 AGO 2014 a las 9:04 p. m.
They were downloaded and installed by HP Support Assistant. The driver version listed on my system seems to follow a different version naming convention from the drivers listed on the Realtek website, so I don't know if they're most recent. I'm downloading them from the Realtek website now in case they're more recent there, then I'll post an update.

Uh... you want to get rid of anything on your system that has "HP" in it dude, they're a nightmare.

Download them direct from the Realtek website.

So I've grabbed the most recent drivers from the Realtek website, and I still can't get stereo audio.

Hmm, pretty odd.

Have you tried messing about with the sound settings on the Taskbar? Maybe your audio device can't do stereo, although for most sound cards these days that is pretty rare.
