how to use skin mods?

I downloaded some skins from gamebanana, but after I put them in the mods folder, they don't show up in the game. I can't find a good solution. How can I use them?

You need to put the skins (.iwi) into your mod .IWD

I put the iwd file into another file, then put it into the mods folder, and switch the mod after entering the game. My game account shows level one, but the mod does not show after entering the server.

I installed skins by replacing (.iwi) files in "iw_02.iwd" (for sniper rifles) / "iw_04.iwd" (for other weapons) and then renamed them to "localized_english_zzz_custom_02.iwd" / "localized_english_zzz_custom_04.iwd". In the past, it worked, and I could play on any servers, but after the last CoD4X update I can't connect to any server because when I try to connect sever reports an error "Impure client detected. Invalid .IWD files referenced!". But on my server ("Start New Server" in menu) skins still works.
