joking aside, I don't remember such a glitch happening to me, although I've completed CoD4 campaign like 6-7 times (the first being in 2011). were you using any third-party mods during gameplay, or perhaps messing with certain variables through developer console? other than these possible reasons, it actually seems to be a rare (and somewhat funny) glitch.
I was not using any mods or console cheats. It was my first play through using vanilla Steam download. However, I did figure out what happened.
It seems to be a glitch/easter egg if you hit the hind with an RPG/keep one your squad members alive, then you will get this "alternate ending". If you search on Youtube for "cod4 alternate ending", you can find videos of people discovering this 10 years ago.
I guess I accidentally discovered this because I was playing on Recruit so I was able to run up to one of the bad guys and grab his M60 and use that to mow down the NPC spawn points, thus keeping my team members alive. I'm not sure how to exactly trigger this ending but it was a fun discovery. And yeah "Cpl Miller" is from WaW but I looked online and the NPC names are randomly generated so I guess it is unique to just me. If you play through it, you might get a different character.

Let me start by saying that the part of Game Over with firing on the hind is scripted. From what I know now and previously, there is NO way to destroy the hind. I have played this game's campaign a few times on the 360 version and again on PC. In the original version of CoD 4: MW, I have NOT been able to hit the hind or at least I can not see a clear sign I have hit it at all. It drops flares and shots will go right through the aircraft. If there is a very accurate shot, it will blow up right in front of the hind. Sometimes, the RPG's projectile will travel in another direction, even when fired at an angle using a certain method. During the drive and even with an enemy's RPG on the bridge, it is not possible to destroy the hind. It is nearly impossible to hit it, and it can not be destroyed. That's why it will still take out the bridge.
I think this is just a bug and being an alternative ending is a hoax. The situation with one ally remaining alive may have occurred at one point for me and I just don't remember, but this source (Fandom) says, "On some occasions in the level when Gaz gets shot, he will still be alive, and will kill Zakhaev and the two soldiers. This can be fixed through going to the last checkpoint." Maybe it can occur with another ally, but it could be a rare occurrence.
I would like to see the videos you found though, as I am interested in observing the scenes where an ally takes out the two soldiers and Zakhaev.
That video title is a little misleading, but maybe it was not meant to be taken seriously at the time the video was made. That is definitely a bug though and it is not supposed to happen. I can see the same walking animations of the enemy soldiers and Zakhaev. None of them are noticing Murphy because the scene is scripted to have everyone die, except for Captain Price and Soap. Furthermore, the player is left to shoot Murphy at the end because the scene can not finish until everyone that is supposed to die will be registered as dead. Otherwise, the player has to save and quit out, and then resume the game from the last checkpoint.
Regardless of what is true, this is something interesting that can occur out of nowhere, and I am pretty sure I encountered it at least once in the past. It is certainly nice to experiment with other possibilities, such as if it is possible Griggs can survive in some way.
