Mac OS can't join MP servers anymore. Help!

I downloaded COD4 and played a few MP games. Then all of a sudden whenever I try to join a server I get a downloading screen and my computer freezes and I have to hard restart. I've tried to turn off mod downloading and it still does it. Looks like it's a COD4i file? I'm not too techy. But anybody know how I can get back onto servers and stop this from happening? I haven't played this game in like ten years and I was so hoping to get back into it!! Thanks.

Bro I've had the same problem and found out it is constant issue because of mac doesn't support cod4x patched servers. That means you can only play 1.7 version based servers which you can see by info button. I'm full of regret cause of this. Cod4x patch doesn't available for mac unfortunately..

Thanks for the replies everyone. Unfortunately, I can't find a solution for me (I'm on a macbook pro). It's so weird that it worked for the first few games and then stopped. Once I click to enter a server I get hit with a mod download screen and my comp freezes. I've tried dozens of servers and it happens every time.

The only server that works for me is the h4x.

yeah me too. I guess it has something to do with the microphone, I think it crashes when it asks you to enable microphone. I'm trying to find a away to keep it enabled but Im not sure if there is any.
If you find a nice populated server on h4x please tell me xD

I had the same issue and found that it was certain servers that were causing my computer to freeze. Look at the "server details" before you join and scroll to the bottom and see if there are actually players in the server or it they're bots. For me it would show "hello kitty" as the players, and if I tried to join, my computer would freeze. Not sure if this is the same issue you're having but hopefully you get it figured out!
