All the Servers are empty.

9 out of 10 times when I join a server that says to have several dozen players, it winds up being completely empty. And I'm having a tough time finding servers with players. Anyone know why this could be?

I dont use the server list in game, i use Gametracker.

Ah, well I personally can't join a lot of these servers due to the http://188.165--etc. bug thing. :/

Mac n Linux suckers are unable to join servers with Protocol 6 or something like that. There was a Windows only patch.

copy and paste the IP

open cod4 console:

/connect xx.xx.xx.xx

The servers are brimming with players.
Activisions master server likes to hide them from you.
Install cod4 X, it updates the game to version 1.8, is backward compatible with vanilla cod4, doesn't change anything just fixes bugs and gives you access to the cod4 X master server which does the job better than craptivisions master server. After that you will find a ton of other servers running cod4 X as well as vanilla servers.
Just google cod4 X, it has an installer, just place it in your game directory.

I think it does not work on Mac. Possibly need a boot camp or whatever it’s called on Mac to run windows os and then try thru that.
