- No, I am not considering re-purchasing my macbook for another year, because i don't have money to do so.
- The servers will come into display, yet many of the servers are not connectable because of the un-downloadable file written above.
- The client is recently downloaded from the app-store (osx apple), and I am quite sure the version is the latest because I haven't received any update notices.
- I want to know what that file they're trying to download is supposed to do, and how to access servers that are currently inaccessible.
Servers you are talking about require all the same user-cod4-patch. This is a Windows only patch and there are indeed a lot of such servers. All you can do is to avoid servers showing not "protocol 6" when you click on serverinfo details.
Great Appreciations.
It seems this problem was not solvable because of the client's basic problem: CLIENT COMPATIBILITY. Yet for people who plays this game from Apple App-Store, the easiest method is to simply not join servers that have anything other than "Protocol 6" notations. Most of the servers are updated (Which is for windows only) and have "Protocol 17". Thus this solution could most likely only be solved through update patch.
I greatly do appreciate all people who came over to provide suggestions, yet I felt the need of saying this: Many people aren't as dumb as you think they are.
-- Basic solutions like reinstalling, finding bootcamp, and repurchasing computers are certainly a good solution, yet I do believe that solution is too far from practical as a forum answer, as I believe many people who came over to the forums must have researched some easy solutions and must have tried them out before they came here. Also, I cannot but say (especially to the comment: Re-purchase a new computer) that the comment was not really smart. I do not think people go around purchasing computers again and again everytime they have game-errors. Thus I do appreciate for the comment, yet I have to say that some of them were simply too "lame". The most technical and practical solution was from "I eat Silvers :D", and so thank you for the temporary solution.
The answer for this forum is NO SOLUTION TO SOLVE THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM, yet at the same time the temporary suggestion is to find servers with the right protocol. Thanks people for the support, and this forum is closed.
