@Bly they don't like it. Reasons I could think about:
#1: Messing with the property of Activision Inc. they maybe deny.
#2: The provided shared libraries could contain any code. Also very malicious one. You never can really know it as user. Since it is from a doubtful source Valve says we block it without any proof.
But what is the point of blocking it? Preventing any discussion on the Steam forum about it. It doesn't spread over forums. It has far superior mechanisms to spread.
Anyway to answer the question of the topic starter: Nothing mentioned here will help you to play the single player game without disc. You have to install something which I can not mention right here without breaking Valve's ToS. But you will find it.
That said, can google and find things that will allow you to play without disk for single player.
