London (Armed police)
I just noticed that in my london police game, all of my police officers are armed (which they are not in the UK). Fortunetly, there is an option to go unarmed, but I find that makes the officers unable to handle some situations. The reason why police in the UK are unarmed is because gun crime is very very very very rare. While it does happen, there are armed units to respond accordingly. It would be nice to see the danger level of criminals lowered in places where police are traditionally unarmed, and keep SWAT option still available to deal with those incidents.

The baseline for the game is to be balanced for European police. As the UK is one of the few countries where the police are not routinely armed, the balance may be a bit off. There is a form (https://steamcommunity.com/app/793460/discussions/0/3016788637314910512/) that users can contribute to the frequency that certain types of incidents happen in their country / city (it is worth noting that the developers are Polish, so that is the only country they can accurately reflect on) but until people fill that form for London / the UK, then the frequency of armed incidents will remain default.

Highly recommend Hibblejaybob's answer, can get the devs to get our areas just right :)

I tend to use single officers on patrol, the odd dual crewed all with protection and their initial guns sold; then a few armed (SO19 I guess for LDN) vans in the major towns. The dudes on the bikes I name PCSOs and send them to the naked men running round usually.

London must be a fun play through, gotta check that out.

With the workshop out and more possibilities that will come for workshop mods it mean you should be able to soon get it to more what you'd like for the London area :)

Will the survey results just be added as the game is updated?

I'm actually not too sure how quickly the survey results get updated, or how it's weighted (like if many users submit different answers for the same incidents) - but if I find out, I'll pass the information on.

Interesting take. The game seems to have incident rates drawn from real life (or at least my hometown just happens to have mostly fire incidents, which is true to life)... If that's the case, I wonder if perhaps they could separate the crime data between violent and nonviolent crime rates?

So such data cannot be extracted from Open Street Maps. This either means that your location aligns closely with the default, or other users have filled in the incident occurrences form for your area.

Oh, I see. Good to know!

Don't worry, there'll eventually be a free update or DLC that will remove London's police entirely, as it will be defunded.

To keep it realistic, you will still have to listen to calls, but there will be no police to respond to them...

Wasn't that only the US police? They're going to face the Fallout world for real this time.

Isn't that what the riot water gun vehicles are for?

Take the pacifist Poland mod from the workshop and tune it for the UK; should work a treat. I'll get there at some point...
