They scammed me?

Hi there.
Years ago I buyed this Game on the official website - and i never heard anything about it. Never played it. So i refund. But also the publisher didn`t react. What can I do?

This is a dead project, they have simply taken our money when we crowdfunded this and gave them a bunch of money to them for this game, and here we are nearly 9 years on and there is no updates, no release dates and nothing at all about this game from developers or anyone linked (They can't say their budget died as they got nearly $1.7 Million on kickstarter).
I guess I will have to take this as a major loss being the amount of money I gave them as well as anyone else tricked into helping a never to be seen project.

That message was posted in August of 2022. More than a year ago and they said they were going to be moving away from steam into their own launcher but they still haven’t updated since then. A update every 6 months in your off time of what’s happening helps the community understand that things are being done but they haven’t even done that.

This game was a scam. They didn't ever actually create a single thing themselves. They ripped off assets, barely changed them, and then acted like they were making a game. This was never meant to be a playable game. It was just a scam from the very beginning. The developers were hoping to cash out big on a huge promise and then released town square to "fulfill" their promise to release something. Anybody could have made town square in less than a week, that is how little of content it has. Literally anybody with minimal skills working with game engines could just use the free asset market and throw together an exact clone of this game in under 7 days.

Failed funding efforts?!

1.7 million is a massive success, frankly. . . it takes less than that to make a game at all. 7-8000 at best if you're doing exactly what was done here, buying assets and pre-built systems to cram together.

The only true element in any of that vague statement, is that they didn't allocate ANY authentic time to building a pipeline, likely over promised on how much they could pay the people they "hired" to work on the game and shot themselves in the foot in production. This game is dead in the water and whatever was paid into it, was pocketed.

Case closed, "Failed funding" is the most absurd excuse I've ever seen being wielded as a defense.
