Suggestion/request: freeze combo timer during boss fights
I know I'm, like, years late on this one, but hear me out: currently, in a game very much focused on speeding through levels to build high combos and get massive ESP payouts, it feels like a horrible roadblock to reach a boss room and end up losing two, three, progressively higher combo multipliers just because it takes so long to defeat them. To this end, I have two suggestions:
First, freeze the timer entirely during a fight. It still resets if you get hit, but if you enter the room at 8x multiplier, you'll leave at 8x no matter what (aside from the extra points you get from defeating that boss).
Second, let the multiplier increase every time you hit the boss. Considering how long it takes to hit bosses already, in between waiting for invulnerability to wear off, or setting up traps to hit otherwise invulnerable bosses, this seems reasonable.

For the record, I've been playing the game on Switch, so if this has already been addressed on Steam, then please make sure the Switch version is also up to date.


(P.S. Currently it seems that defeating Vice President Helicopter does not count towards your multiplier at all, unlike the other bosses. Another thing to look at.)
