You can try 'Magnifier' which can work well with turn based games.

Thanks @vpaulus. Based on that forum thread, there is no real fix for this. A re-write of the game code is required. Maybe AOW5? The dev had since 2017 to do something. I don't think I have the patience anymore for tinkering with settings files only to get partial solutions... As the saying goes, "I'm getting too old for this sh*t."

I tried some more to play this with the tiny info windows, icons, etc. I just can't do it. The strain was headache inducing. A real pity. I wanted to get this as my first step up from Panzer General into more serious war gaming.

[Scaling]
Graphics=1

All the interface boxes would respond to this setting, try values over 1

I am a big fan of UI Scaling as I get older.
This game offers many options to satisfy my aging eyes.
Playing on a fairly large monitor & using '14' as my smallest font sizes, all is nearly perfect.
The graphic scaling option is a nice touch which, fortunately, I don't need.
It does work, however.

I guess I was too impatient that day. Looking through the forum posts, it seemed like people had tried the workarounds but these then caused other glitches such as text being cut off in dialogs or the editor not working anymore- so I just gave up. In any case, it's back to Panzer Corps and 4X games for me. I also picked up HOI IV during the sale.

OneShoe I agree with you. I expect more from publishers. Having to perform workarounds just to get a game to run is ridiculous and I have better things to do with my time. At the least put out a setting editor to change the relevant graphics.

Where is this file located? I'm not seeing it.
