Worst QTE ever...

How am I supposed to escape the well? When do I actually have to press the mouse button to pass the QTE? I just see the mouse symbol and a closing circle. There seems to be no indicator when to press the mouse button. It feels totally random. Too bad when you have to do this four times in a row...

It was easy, just press it as soon as you see the mouse icon. Each time.

Nonsense, I already tried that. Pressing the mouse button as soon as the icon is shown gives me 7 fails out of 10 tries. It seems to be totally random how fast you have to press the button. I have never seen a worse implementation of a QTE in any game.

If you use a controller it becomes very easy, with mouse you literally have to guess when is the right time to click as there is no inner circle

Thanks for the info TreeTrunk - just as I feared. Is it really so hard for developers to implement working mouse/keyboard controls?

The well sequence has QTEs with alternating buttons. Left Mouse and Right Mouse buttons. Pay attention to which button is highlighted. I failed that section a lot of times till I realized this.

LOL, that must have been the most stupid comment I ever read. In RL you react instinctively to a threat - you dont have to think what to do if you dodge a car that would have hit you crossing the street. In a video game you have to press one or multiple buttons on a keyboard or a controller at a given time. In each game this "reaction" is different and often has nothing to do with what you see on screen.

And if you get a QTE, like in this game, where you know what to press but not exactly when you have to press it, then things get stupid. There have been similar QTEs like this one in other games, but they where better implemented - like two circles where one moves inward and one moves outward. When they hit you have to press the corresponding button.

By the way I finally escaped the well, but with no hint given here. The solution actually was to hold the mouse button till the symbol on screen turned green. I can't remember that I had to do this at any other QTE in this game before or that this was explained anywhere.

Oh, and I always had to press the left mouse button - never the right one. Don't know if this is different from game to game.
