Crashing

I got a new computer and this game keeps crashing during the opening cut screen. I've lowered all my graphics (3080) and it keeps crashing...any suggestions?

I comment because I'm interested to see if someone suggests something because the same problem occurs to me, I tried to skip the cinematics at the beginning but still, in the playable part it crashes the same

Commenting also for interest? Experienced my first crash and my frame rate tanking inside the Inn when exploring, it drops to at least 40fps and I have it locked to 60 1080p Ultra. Pretty sure a 5900x and 6950xt should handle it fine.

Having the same issue, im running a top of the line i5 and an rtx 2060 with 32GB of ram, game is on high settings. also tried game on medium settings, same issue. Shouldnt be happening

SAME HERE I am getting 15 fps on 1080P with 3070 rtx. I am socked at this and the reviews for the game being so positive??

Hi again! After some more searching I found something that worked for me. This is from another thread on "Bug reports and technical issues" (with corrections).

step1 : press ( Windows + R ) and paste this: '' SystemPropertiesAdvanced ''
step2 : Next click on Environment Variables...
step3 : In the lower frame, System Variables, press New
step4 : And in the fields, paste these values:
Variable Name: OPENSSL_ia32cap
Variable value: ~0x20000000

Press Ok and close the Environment Variables window. Restart the computer. Try to run the game now.

it crashed twice for me within 2 minutes on a 3060ti. refunded

game keeps crashing. couldnt even pass intro. if there is any other way to fix this without changing system variables i wanna know. or i will refund. but wanna play actually. thats the only game crashing like this so dont wanna change any settings on computer.

Note the original values so you can change them back if you have problems with other games

same problem, changing the environment variable did not fix the black screen, it looks like I need to refund game :(
