thanks for your interest in the game!
Being a split screen game by design, DYO is specifically made to be a local co-op experience. We thought a lot about whether or not to include online multiplayer, but we found that DYO is the most fun if played locally with a friend. Hence, there will be no online multiplayer for DYO.
However, DYO does feature a single player mode. If you haven't yet, you can download the demo from our store page and check out the game (including the available control schemes) before deciding whether or not to buy DYO!
Best regards
Ragnar

Quite a shame you've made this choice. A lot of people (including me) won't purchase it because of this. My usual partner for co-op games lives quite far away. I understand why you say local co-op might be "the best" experience, but to stick to local multiplayer only and exclude an online feature is a pretty heavy choice against commercial success.
Anyway, if anyone is interested in playing DYO online (or any other local-only game), feel free to try Parsec: https://parsecgaming.com/ - if you have a good upload speed for that (I'd suggest 10mbit/s for 1080p @ 60fps).
I've already played different local-only games with 3 people on different ocasions, and had no trouble so far.
I'm one of those people, so thanks DEV! Always looking for couch co-op and split screen games to play with friends :)
Also thanks for making this free, I'll look at your other games and see if any are a good fit for me and my friends to support you with money. Always like DEVs who do nice things!
Not sure about that. Just played the entire game online using Steam Remote Play Together and it was one of the best puzzle experiences ever.
Great also for couch co-op also.
I personally would never go back to a desk and those uncomfortable 'gaming' chairs. Couch all the way baby!
Lol, wow, what an objectively bad take. You know what's fun? Being able to play the game with your friends. You know what's not fun? Not being able to because of an asinine decision to make it local only. You guys do realize that people have friends that they don't know in real life, right? It has actually been a pretty common thing for the last 30 years or so. And the whole pretentious "We know better than the player" in regards to what's fun is a terrible look.
