Another option is that you are supposed to use the special stave you acquired in the middle. The problem being for me that I sold the staff because I thought was just another bone nova.
The hints should be more obvious in the beta branch, so maybe try that first. If you're still stuck, let me know and I'll change it to something more obvious as people aren't supposed to get stuck for a long time there.
My bad seems like I was talking about the Fiery Pit and it's 9 plates. I have no clue what you are supposed to do with the 9 pressure plates.
Try switching to the beta branch (backup your save), the hint should be clearer. If that fails, look at the floor between the plates and you should be able to see a path
Hi, just to make sure, are you talking about this one in Ruined Temple? Because if that one isn't obvious enough, I think I'll have to just number the plates (the trick isn't supposed to be figuring out the order, but how to press 3 before 4).

Or are you referring to the one in the Fiery Pit, the one with nine plates? There is a wide black trail running along the route you must take
- In previous puzzles you just had to press all plates
- Or you had some kind of code
I do not think the puzzles are bad ideas, I even kind of like them, but I would like to see some better feedback if the player is stuck for a while.
In the fiery pit I went back to the skeleton to ask for help but he was very unhelpfull. It would be cool if you managed to get to the nine pressure plates the skeleton unlocked an extra dialogue which gives you a hint about the puzzle if you talk to him again. It's human nature to go and ask for help.
The second puzzle seemed pretty clear for me, I would recommend making the rocks a different color so they stand out more. And perhaps some kind of feedback mechanic if the players get stuck.
In cases where multiple plates need to be pressed, there are signal fires next to them that light up when the plate is down. I believe that isn't the case in the earlier catacomb levels, though, so it might be a good idea to look at those. It would be a good idea to tutorialize the puzzles, but I don't think we'll have the time to do that.
We don't really have a system that would allow us to change NPC dialogue based on progress flags. We also locked down all the description/dialogue text last week for final translations. If the chance to add more dialogue strings presents itself, I'll see if I could add some "tutorial skeletons" next to the puzzles. Thanks again!
