Shining Blade & Shining Ark (PSP) made by the same developers apparently and it has similar gameplay, but different setting. These are Japanese only though, so unplayable since there's not translation patch yet.
Code Name Steam (3DS), has some gameplay similarities, but completely different setting and aesthetic.
Banner of the Maid (Steam), based like VC in historical events (French revolution with fictional elements and anime style) and with different units/classes you can control. But it's completely turn-based.
Then there's maybe Resonance of Fate, which is similar in that it combines turn based with real time elements, but plays completely different other than that and it's a unique game on its own.
I only played this Troubleshooter game a little bit so far, but it seems way better than it looks and I'm really looking forward to playing more.

Utawarerumono is way more of a VN than SRPG, but if you enjoy the cutscenes in Valkyria Chronicles you may enjoy it. It's a fantastic series that hits basically every emotion.

Dual Gear I haven't played, but from what I've seen it really looks like a cross between Valkyria Chronicles and Front Mission. I'm really hoping when finished it lives up to it's potential. Buy at your own risk, but certainly looks like one to keep an eye on.

Something I find myself coming back to is Fire Emblem, but I really miss some guns.
I'll check some of the games posted here, but someone have something more gunny?
It's an Anime.
the stories of Fire Emblem are about war.
It's turn based,
