Need help on "Unable to initialize Steam API" problem
Just bought VC4 few days ago from Winter Sales.

When I opened the VC4 client, a window popped up "Unable to initialize Steam API. Please make sure Steam is running and you are logged in to an account entitled to the game".

I have tried to re-install Steam and the same problem still coming out.

Need help from anyone to solve this problem so that I can enjoy this game. Thank you.

How are you starting the game? Are you using the Play button in the Steam library?

Also, have you tried verifying files? Right click on the game in your library, select properties, select the local files tab, then use the verify button.

I used the PLAY button the Steam Library and it still the same problem. I also follow your step in verifying the files. After that, still the same problem.

<hunts around the internet> Yeah, looks like re-installing Steam is the best way to fix this but you've already done that.

Have you got the COMODO firewall program, by chance? If so, you might be able to tell it to stop blocking the game. It helped folks with Prey a year and a half back.

If you don't have that firewall program, you still might want to check your anti-virus and firewall programs to see if they are getting in the way.

I dont have the COMODO firewall program. But I will check for my anti-virus and firewall
A couple of other things to try:
- If you have opted into the steam client beta, opt out.
- Try clearing the download cache (steam settings, downloads, clear download cache) as this wouldn't necessary have been removed if steam was uninstalled.
