It has its strong points: arguably the best story of all VC games; characters being able to switch between all different classes; challenging gameplay; side-characters being more involved in the plot, SP actions, multiple special missions where you play as other factions or your squad teams up with characters from VC1 and 2, points at the story where you can choose between two different routes, etc. It's definitely worth playing.

The main issue with VC3 is the lack of memorable maps. Due to PSP limitations, each map is divided in usually 2 or 3 small areas, they get repetitive in the long run since you have multiple missions through the game in repeated locations.

VC3 is surprisingly easy game as you can use money grabbing shop girl to cheese everything with her APC.
Not to mention "OPEN FIRE" and "VALKYRIA" which one shot most of the things.
Story is argurably better than All other VCs. Riela and Imca are better Waifus than Riley or Kai
Kurt Irving's character is well-done. Very talented but not invincible.
Also to mention that the game give you maps and date to tell you where you are in the story and how does it tied in with VC1.
I really wanted to see if Kurt Irving will be in VC4 but no, Squad 7 steals the spotlight.

VC3 is my favorite of all of them. The characters have much more personality and there are gameplay features from this one which sadly did not make the cut in VC4. Besides being actually able to play as a Valkyria this time, one of them is the Heavy enemy which I thought was a great solution to Scout rushing... Basically, they were walking machine-guns armed with shields that usually took 2 squadmates to bring down, and had insane DPS. If they parked on a Camp, your Scout/Unarmored APC would've needed some support in order to approach it, since they could chew you up in less than a second.

I'd say the main problem with VC3 is the reuse of the same small maps over and over again, but if you can get past that, it's easily one of the best VC experiences condensed in portable format. I would definitely love to see VC5 (if it ever comes out) to expand more on the gameplay features found in VC3.

Nahhh, in VC3, its not scout that is OP, it is shocks. They are able to 1 shot the heavy armored guy from the front (If he don't raise shield)

Upgrade your gattling gun, the heavy armor guys have awfully long draw time and when you aim, move your shop girl up close and shoot him in the head to 1 shot him, No penetration required.
But if he raise shield, try again.

It's really good. It has some good ideas with the ability to customize characters more, better balance than 1 or 2, sp skills, and more. However, I personally still definitely prefer VC1 and VC4:

-As others have noted, VC3 reuses the same small maps over and over, some of which are even already being reused from VC2.
-Grindy. The character customization it has required a fair bit of grinding to get the most out of it.
-Looooong. I mean, usually I like a long game, but VC3 really dragged. The forced cameos from tons of characters from VC1 and VC2 helped cause this and the repetitive maps made it worse.

Narratively its good but gameplay its still suffers from being VC2s limited version of the combat with a few features sprinkled in.

Great game. Probably best story of the series and I personally liked how they changed tank management, with armor being really relevant (front/side/rear) and the ability to customize its loadout with things such as more fuel tanks and additional armor, you can even change the main body to make him lightier/heavier. Don't understand why they rolled back to VC1 semplified system. Also infantry loadout was more customizable. If you can get past PSP limitations, such as small maps repeated over and over again, it's a game absolutely worth playing for a VC fan.

It was fun to play at the time, provided that you like JRPG.

VC3 is my personal favorite in the franchise.

It has a better story and better characters than the other games.

It has many more character classes than VC1 and 4. Heavy Gunners and portable barrier-carrying melee units are good examples.

The SP Points, of which are limited to 3 per mission, have different effects depending on the hero unit using them (one like the use in VC4, one that is like the grenadier to every enemy in her forward arc, and a Valkyria Transformation for the new and returning Valkyrias).

Each character has a different model, unlike VC2's head-swap style.

The DLC are free, using in-game codes that were given out over time rather than having to purchase them.

That is not to say that the game is perfect, though. It does reuse maps a lot; they are smaller than VC1 and 4's maps, but usually have multiple of them interlinked in each mission. And you can only get the game in Japanese. It does have an English translation patch, though.

Personally, all the VC games except 2, are good.

Mainly due to the fact that VC 1, 3, and 4, all take place in the same time period. It's just different squads, doing diff things. VC 3 if i remember correctly, gets screwed the hardest though, as they are the force that does everything "Behind the scenes". Not quitte spies, but more along the line of sabotuers.

In the future, I'd like to see all the Squads meet up. But that's just one man's dreams.

Eventually, I'd like to see the game take place, or s turn of events, when the player, plays the Empire's side. I think that would be cool. My opinion.

VC 3 squad is a penal military unit, ordered to perform extremely dangerous tasks that regular army and milita will not do. It has the most mature storyline imho.

The people in VC3 are basically a Penalty Squadron or Suicide Squad if you will. They are made up of people that mostly got in trouble with high standing political people.

I started VC 3 and got hooked instead lmao.
VC 4 has to wait.

VC4 = 50 hours of story and gameplay if you played squad stories and DLCs
VC3 = 100 hours of story and gameplay if you play every fragments and DLC.

VC3 is that good.......
Played all the VC and I generally enjoyed it for what it is. Though some people will disagree.
