SPOILER - Final Boss Bugs
I just spent 2 hours trying to beat the final boss in chapter 18b. I had to restart at least 4 times because it had a habit of suddenly doing 4x the normal damage and one shotting my main tank, even though I intentionally kept the front pointed at it. Finally I got it to a good position and burned down the radiators. The last radiator I went for (Front Left) was completely untargetable via lancer fire. Radiator is also immune to grenades as well as standard mortars. Unless I had an anti tank mortar equipped it was completely unbeatable, which I did not because the game decides to equip whatever mortar you last researched.

I fired at least 30 shots into that radiator into different positions, but the projectile always bounced off and froze in the most buggy display ive ever seen a projectile take. Forums only suggest that you just play it again and cheese the fight.

Now that I recall I quit the first Valk game on the last mission because of a frustrating bug as well. The long animation of the tank driving back into the water, triggering its AOE effects, and then summoning 3 more dudes to kill each turn I went to attempt it made it all the more frustrating.

I had the same problem you did at literally the exact same time. I was using mortars to cheese it but it still decided that it's radiators were invincible, so I can't even beat it that way. A continuation of absolute garbage hitboxes for almost all bosses in this game, ruining any fun the fight would have hd.

... and meanwhile i killed all 4 radiators with both lancers and anti-tank mortars.
Granted i did drop down to easy difficulty for that map.

The radiator hitbox is AWFUL. I got tired of missing so I ended up save-scumming per turn to get a radiator each time it dove down. I don't know if they fixed it, but I had run a lancer up onto the hull of the tank with a radiator exposed, aimed at the radiator with the lance being above the guard rail the tank has, fired, and I didn't do any damage to the thing.

I guess that wasn't the only bug I experienced. Witches ranged attacks going through walls and ceilings to hit my dudes. The final boss tank could fire its main cannon at people who were standing on its side at a geometrically impossible angle. Enemy tanks had the range and accuracy of a sniper to his infantry when you dont give them another tank to fire at. Mortars suiciding because I placed them behind a sandbag before firing, and the fire path showed normal.

Wait did I miss something? I never found a way to save in the middle of a battle, unless I am blind.

Yeah bud, when you press ESC in command mode (the top down) it'll give you a list of stuff you can do. Like, issue orders and the like. At the very bottom, it'll have "system". Clicking that lets you save or load a previous file.

Edit: Also, half the stuff you describe is just the game being...the game tbh. Enemies love love LOVE taking potshots from miles away and honestly it's a pain in the ass. I agree though the final boss main cannon has no business having an almost (and probably exaggerated) 230 degree arc.

i do remember the guard rails getting in the way of the lancers aiming at the radiator but i moused around a bit to find the shot thatll go thru. Unless that's what you guys did and still are missing then either i never got hit by this bug or RNG is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you guys hard.
Just cheese it with anti-armor mortarrs and orders. You can knock out all the radiators at once.

The incredible and easy way to eliminate the big tank:

Getting closer (not too close to get interception fired) and manually adjusting the aim worked for me to clear the mission in 6 turns destroying the radiators one by one at turns 2, 4, 5 and 6 respectively (Normal difficulty)
