Checking to see if anyone out there would be willing to make mods for this game.

I would love a mod for Kai that allows her to wear her outfit without the cape or whatever it's called.

Not sure about mods, but the DLC they released is essentially what you're looking for.
For vc 1 i never saw models mods. Only gameplay ones. I doubt that would be different in this one
Someone (Durante I think) did a couple of mods to improve the way things look at HD and above resolutions on the first game and possibly someone did a white border removal tweak, so modding is possible to an extent, and the tools are available to unpack and repack the container files.

This doesn't seem to be the type of game that garners much interest where modding is concerned. Probably as well, the game engine is probably fairly unique and could be difficult to mod with
I just looked at the game files, and it is a mess for a modder. it is completely baked files with internal game engine names. They all in one folder. It took me a 3 hours just to find a specific model.
The only thing that i have figured out that VM prefix stands for Mesh objects.

A quick update - yep repacking files works. https://imgur.com/a/OcTcyj3

The problem is that main file is 20GB and in unpacked state is over 40GB, unpacking and packing it over again will be a pain. A DLC archives is much more smaller ones.

If you rebuild CPK with YaCpkTool you should be able to then use CriPakTools' injection feature to replace single files much faster without repacking the whole thing.
I will play around with replacing a specific range in file, without repacking it, but i am not quite sure about that. But if it worked out - there will be a very easy solution to deploy mods.

YaCPKtool actually can replace files, but for no reason whatever i tried - it just wont find a file that need to be replaced in CPK.
Yes, YaCpkTool fails. Even if it actually does find one - you MUST use full paths and make sure there are no spaces in any paths for that to happen - it just fails to replace and doesn't create a correct cpk. That's why I've mentioned CriPakTools - it's a different cpk unpacker, and it only successfully replaces if you've unpacked and repacked with YaCpk, which gets rid of some shenanigans in TOC format (compare the beginning of original with rebuilt by YaCPk archive, you should see a huge padding full of 0s in the rebuilt version which is filled with stuff in the original)

@evilserge: thank you for your reply. I'm just wondering, if you could make a replacer mod, I want to replace Kai and Riley's model with the one in the hot spring... or maybe just tell me how and i will try myself.

Cutscene and ingame models are diffrent, so you cannot just replace them. But you can make your own outfit. I am busy at the job atm so i have no time for that. Sorry
I can write for you a simple guide how to repack and convert files to DDS.
@evilserge: yeah, all I want to do is to replace kai and riley with their nude version. in the first game, someone managed to replace the in-game models with the cutscene one (resulting in better texture), so i thought maybe we could do it too here. you said files with VM prefix are the mesh files, can we convert it to 3d object files like OBJ or XPS or anything else i can open in blender? because I'm more familiar with blender... I think all we need to do is determine which files we need, and find a way to view them. thank you for your time explaining!
