Valkyria Chronicles 1 and 4 Chronological chapter orders
Hello everyone, I'm assume that you guys already played Valkyria Chronicles 1? Well I finished that game as well a while back on my ps3. I bought Valkyria Chronicles 4, but I haven't played it yet. Since Valkyria Chronicles 1 and 4 take place at the same time, in the same war, I was thinking that it would be fun if I can replay VC1 and VC4 in chronological order from their chapter format. I don't know much about the plot of VC4 other than that it set in the Atlantic Federation and that the events of that game start first before the events of VC1. Other than that, I don't know much about the story of 4. I feel that playing the games in chronological orders will be much easier since the chapters in each game has dates in which the events in the stories take place in. Anyway, to the point, I wanted to ask you guys in what order do I play the chapters in each game in chronological order? I will also love it if you guys will include the DLC and reports missions as well. Without spoilers of course. Thank you.

Best thing you can do is refund VC4 before the 2h mark. Then you won't be disappointed by the atrocious writing ^^

Gameplaywise they are (almost) identical anyway.

VC4 starts earlier but covers a bigger time span, ending pretty much at the same time as VC1. But unlike VC1 and VC3 which have events that overlap, VC4 has its own independent flow of events taking place in a whole different territory, so it's hard to establish an exact chronology of which would be the exact chronological order between VC1 and VC4 chapters, because there are very little refferences. I'm mean maybe it's possible but I don't have enough knowledge on the dates each chapter takes place.

We know that at some point around VC4 chapter 2 and before VC1 chapter 9 squads from both games join forces in a joint operation, but that's not much saying. Also the DLC The Two Valkyria would be the first thing chronologically, since it takes place two years before the war starts.

Refund a videogame just because of writing? lol, I would have had to refund like 80% of the games I've played.

The writing and game is rubbish from the start no doubt about it, it was until the last 15% of the game when everything got very dark and you will NOT be disappointed with the game. i played VC4 long than VC1. You will be forced to make difficult choices near the end. SEGA out did VC4 against VC1.

I'm sorry, but I have to say that the ending is a bad joke, where certain people don't get necessary medical treatment so the cast can pose like idiots for minutes (including the damn medic). Plus there is only one "hard choice" that the player has to make, and it is forced on you in a situation that could be resolved in many other (better) ways. It was only added to generate some unnecessary drama in this highschool-simulator.

Also: sitting through this game just for the last 15% is yet again bad game design ^^

I have played all the games of VC, VC4 is a very good one.

To get on your question, there is a scene where you see forseti and the professor. There they discuss the ending of VC 1. Should be chapter 11 or 12. So VC 4 starts one or two months before VC 1 and ends one to three months later.

Keep in mind that the missions in VC 4 include Flashbacks, so you would have to beat large portions of VC 4 then go back and do the flashback and squad story missions.

Only played VC1 and VC4, thought it was neat how the plots between the games showed different perspectives in the same war. Like when the cease fire happened in VC4, I was a bit confused on why that happened. Then I recalled that it probably was the result of the first game. Not only was it a reference, but it changed the outcome for VC4.

Yeah that's what I love about these games that they tie into each other.

Thanks! Although I think it could of been better. Yeah that's one way to do it, but I like playing games in chronological order. I think it's kind of fun doing it that way sometimes.
