Are Royal Weapons better than the final models that you unlock in R&D? I'm curious because I was watching a youtube video and someone was using the uhh Gautt R, which I had no idea existed, to one-shot tank radiators. I

I think it depends on the tier. They tend to be very good when you first get them, but eventually get eclipsed by R&D. They also tend to be eclipsed in the stats your R&D weapons specialize in (but are still significantly better on all other fronts).

Haven't gotten the top tier royal weapons yet, so I couldn't say if their stats are better.

They're better at certain points in the game, but ultimatelly get outclassed by R&D upgrades. Certain special weapons may, however, be still superior to their R&D counterparts in a specific stat (usually at the cost of the other parameters) so they can be useful if you need to make use of that particular attribute, but R&D final upgrades are better overall.

The elite level skirmishes unlock a single elite tier weapon if i recall

The elite tier weapons are the only ones better in any way than late game R & D although most are not all round better

By elite level you mean the 3-Star Skirmishes?
