Probably a licensing issue. The Japanese music industry is notorious for time limited licenses.

so after this update i get less content lol (i received Expert Level Skirmish but I don't care about that DLC ... I already got all the DLCs that I wanted) ... losing "Light of My Life" is not worth it ...

The JP opening song soundtrack is still in the opening movie file (just extracted it to check). So my 2c is it's probably a regular mistake and the game selects the wrong track.

how do you extract it? if it's in the game then can a simple renaming and repack it work?

if it's a mistake then why they add a new opening?

because this. i too didn't exactly complete the game, but whenever i felt down, i drag my mouse wheel down on my steam library, click on VC4 just to see the "Light of My Life Opening"
