The game itself will not be timed, and the majority of the puzzles will not be timed either (except perhaps one that we are working on right now that will require some timing). The reason why we made this game was because we wanted to create an experience where you could take time together to explore and discover things in a calm atmosphere.
We've decided to include the puzzle in the form that it is in due to specific design and narrative reasons that we think fit the game really well. The focus of this puzzle (and all other puzzles in the game) is about figuring out something together with your teammate in a different way. Unfortunately, as it looks now we don't think we'll remove the timer, however, we'll do plenty of more tests and can let you know if that changes. We'd be super glad if you'd still want to try the game, however, now you know what to expect so it doesn't come as a surprise. Thanks for showing interest in the game and we wish you a happy new year!:D
(Also the morse code parts but that's our own fault for just being bad at it)
I would say, maybe make it a difficullty setting, so to allow some people experience time-limitation while let others sinply enjoy relaxing, slow-paced gameplay?
