Tick Tock: A Tale for Two

Very Interested but have a question
Will this game/puzzles be timed? If so can the timer be turned off? A friend and I like to play co-op games but neither of us like timed puzzles or games.

Hi Chloe!

The game itself will not be timed, and the majority of the puzzles will not be timed either (except perhaps one that we are working on right now that will require some timing). The reason why we made this game was because we wanted to create an experience where you could take time together to explore and discover things in a calm atmosphere.

If you want to have a calm atmosphere then why include a puzzle that has a timed aspect to it? If you must have this particular puzzle in the game would it be possible to have the option to turn off the timer?

Hi Chloe!

We've decided to include the puzzle in the form that it is in due to specific design and narrative reasons that we think fit the game really well. The focus of this puzzle (and all other puzzles in the game) is about figuring out something together with your teammate in a different way. Unfortunately, as it looks now we don't think we'll remove the timer, however, we'll do plenty of more tests and can let you know if that changes. We'd be super glad if you'd still want to try the game, however, now you know what to expect so it doesn't come as a surprise. Thanks for showing interest in the game and we wish you a happy new year!:D

I understand, but if the timer can't be removed, perhaps the amount of time allowed could be plenty enough for most players to solve it? I'll talk to my playing partner and get her views on whether we buy the game. And thank you for your reply and Happy New Year to you too.

That is a great idea! We'll take that into consideration when we test the puzzle as well. We want the puzzle to be fun, not frustrating:)

I want to add that having played the game the said timed puzzle was what frustrated my friend and I the most. We didn't understand most of the clues and due to the timed aspect it didn't give us enough time to get a chance to figure out what they meant. Sadly it was due to this that ultimately ended up ruining our experience with the game.
(Also the morse code parts but that's our own fault for just being bad at it)

We struggled the most with the Morse code (but at the same time we enjoyed finally realazing what to do - great satisfaction, considering we even started to play again, thinking we have missed something before!), while on that timing part, screwing it over and over, we laughed a lot and I have to say, I enjoyed that little challenge!

I would say, maybe make it a difficullty setting, so to allow some people experience time-limitation while let others sinply enjoy relaxing, slow-paced gameplay?
