Tick Tock: A Tale for Two

Tick Tock: A Tale for Two

Scary?
I've seen the game described as "spooky" and "atmospheric", but I was hoping to get a better handle on what that actually meant, as I'd love to play this with my partner but he struggles with anything even mildly horror-esque.

Without giving any spoilers, I'd love to know how "scary" this game is. are there jump scares? Foreboding figures or shadows following you or appearing around to make you uneasy? What kind of horror tropes have led people to label this as "spooky"?

Thanks in advance :).

Like it says, it's more the atmosphere, no real jumpscares or things like that!

there is only one kinda jumpscare but thats all and the jumpscare is not even so scary its only the atmosphere who makes it eerie or spooky as Coppenst said:balloonicorn:

No jumpscares, no any disturbing images, no ghosts, nothing I would describe even slightly twisted.

Why people would call this "eerie" or "spooky" is mostly due to the setting at evening, calm music and the silence, and gloomy visual style without much colors.

If your partner can handle the screenshots, she/he can handle the game.

Some of the events implied by the story are also somewhat creepy. And "Player 1" does get to see a raven have its soul sucked into a clock. But it's more "chilling" or "disconcerting", not "horror", definitely not "jumpscare".

What was that "one kinda jumpscare", if you don't mind me asking? I'm usually very sensitive to anything violent or scary and like including info on such things in my curator for relaxing games, but I've played this game and thought it was pretty chill throughout (apart from the messed up things you can conclude from what you hear/read about).

I just finished a playthrough as Player 1, zero jumpscares, I did hear my player 2 mention there was a jack in the box they had to open, maybe that? but nothing visually scary.

Oh, that could be. I was Player 1 as well, and my Player 2 isn't easily scared :D
