Do we need 2 copies of the game to play?

Just got the game and want to play with my gf. Do I need to buy another copy of the game for her?

This is not accurate at all. First off, to library share, you can only share on the same device. And second, if you do share on the same device, you cannot play at the same time. You have to buy two copies of the game, which is very misleading. Not feeling the warm fuzzies now that I know I have to buy another copy to play with gf.

This is incorrect. I library share between 3 computers frequently. For anyone wondering how to share to different PCs just read the guide.

I'm not sure about the offline mode part @Mede mentioned. I think library sharing works differently in offline mode. There are several hundred DRM free games on Steam--perhaps this is one of them which would explain why it might run in offline mode.
