Anyone use a joystick for this game?

Is anyone use a joystick for this game, with good results? I'm thinking about trying one, but in other similar games, I found aiming and killing moving targets with a joystick far too difficult, when compared to a mouse...

I prefer a joystick. When I play this game I plug mine in. It took a BIT of finageling to get the control scheme where I wanted it, but its more satisfying in THIS game than War thunder, IMO.

Its an old one, but its worked for years. its the Saitek Cyborg Evo.
Its hat is nice for looking around, and it has basic throttle and plenty of mappable buttons.

I use my T16000m FCS HOTAS and it's a blast to play with it. Takes some fine tuning, like any flight game will when setting up the controls but, there aren't many so it takes very little time.

I tried one of those recently, but found the action too stiff for my own tastes. I just acquired a Thrustmaster HOTAS X, which feels better for me with the stiffness adjuster slackened off completely.... but I still find it mostly impossible to keep my gun sights
on enemy planes. :-/
