Regarding inventory space: later on (around level 12 I'd say) you can increase it via a quest.
I hadn't played the game for a couple months, and just played again yesterday to try the beta, and I noticed this, too. Is this cap something new? (I thought my potions were bugged until I read this). I don't remember it happening when I played the game previously ( a couple of months ago). I must say, when fighting high-level enemies, this cap is frustrating, and it discourages me from playing.
It doesn't effect potions (which potions you're talking about?), it is HP regen.
Also, you have 2 full recoveries, or up to 4, if you invest skill points in them. Potions do its job per description, so it depends what potions you use at the moment.
