There are some NPCs create potions for you infinetely as long as you give them golds and ingredients(some are gathered at fields, some are dropped from loots, one is bought) after you cleared their quests. 8 potions from 5 NPCs, IIRC. Before you swim at golds, you might use them a lot.
Some NPCs give you quests which require some ingredients from loots and create equipments for rewards. You can make extra backpack later. One NPC creates infinetely like potions, but others(5, IIRC) create for only once. Dev said that crafting is currently under work, so this may be expanded later.

Level cap at the moment is level 100, but you have cap for traits, not sure which is now, I guess max is 12, or maybe 10 with getting 12 in a way of natural 10 plus 2 through equipment. And yes, it was much lower before, but many asked to be removed, so David removed it.
Its Skills that seem a pain to level, so many good ones but so little points and the only books you get are dropped by bosses in the endurence-run super dungeon.
I was curious about the level cap so thanks for answering this question.
