Is this a glitch of am I not understanding the game

I played the following game and got this as an end screen.
If it isn't clear my mouse is hovering over a 1.

Now to my eye there is a mine directly next to the highlighted square which I flagged correctly given the green background. However in the big square above has a mine in it which is also connected to the highlighted 1.

If this is not a glitch can someone please explain to me where I miss understood the game?

When you marked a mine, all numbers will automatically decrease by one. You can uncheck the triangle on top to change it.

The numbers do not indicate how many bombs that are "near" the tile (unlike most other mine games). Instead the number denotes how many unmarked mines remain.

This display option is configurable.
