ditto now its like someone is constantly pushing down on the controller, I even run backwards without touch anything. I removed the game pad, reset all controls to default and then reinstalled the game and still does it. Cant play because of this!

I'm having the same problem, my gamepad works perfekt in FS17: In FS19 I can only click trough the start up scenes but as soon as I get to the start menue nothing works. I've tried remapping the controls and the keys seems to work there, at least it shows new mappings, I've tried to reset the mappings as well.
Did you manage to solve it and get the gamepad to work?

What helped me, after long search for a solution:

Go to your folder "Steam\SteamApps\common\Farming Simulator 19\profileTemplate"

Delete all files that begin with "input" in its name. For example "inputBindingDefault_Gamepad.xml".

After doing this, i never had any problems anymore.

In game setting there is an option to turn on gamepad/wheel. I believe it is off by default. If you turn that on the gamepad will work.

Has anyone resolved this? I have 2 different remotes that are wired USB and a Bluetooth Xbox one remote. I have successfully hooked all 3 but NoNe with actually work in the game. I’ve tried everything for the last few days.

I found the solution to the problem. Its 2020 and i feel like people still facing this problem so here it goes.
Go to Documents>My Games>FarmingSimulator19.
Open gameSettings.xml with a txt editor like notepad++.
Find the line where it says "<isGamepadEnabled>false</isGamepadEnabled>" and set it to true.
Save.
Enjoy your controller.

Ok, I did what Eggi said, I checked to make sure it was enabled in game and then I tried what Darktotaled said to do but my xbox 1 wired controller still is not being picked up in game at all. It works in others though.

Have a look at Xpad then, if its still out there.
Worked a treat in the earlier games when they didnt pick up wheels, joystick or controllers.

I tried to do the 3 methods mentioned above. What finally helped for me was to reset the controller settings to default in the game. On the screen where you can map the buttons for the controller.

My issue, Game pad was working fine then one day it decided not to anymore, could use controller to skip intro but that was all. searched for hours on web for a fix. none of them worked. after hours of trying to fix it i stumbled onto this.
how i fixed it......
1} open windows settings
2} search "Xbox game bar"
3} turn "Xbox game bar" off
4} UN-check box that says "open Xbox game bar using this button on a controller (Xbox home button)"
5} close settings
6} launch game
7} go to game pad controls
8} reset all

That fixed my issue, hope this helps someone out :D
