Alternative vehicle switching keys?

As my vehicle number now counts 11 , I find it a bit frustrating when you have for example, the harvester and pickup trailer tractor in view and quickly want to switch control of them, making the stop time a minimum. But as it is now, having to "TAB" 11 times in order to control the next vehicle, many times too quick and missing the right one, having to press TAB 11 more times.. it is not good.
I would like to have my primary vehicles in a shortcut key, say "1", "2" or "3" as in many other strategic games where you quickly want to control specific units on the battlefield.
Is this possible in FS19?

esc and map and you just pick what want to drive if you know where it is and you dont need to tab

There have been vehicle switching mods that let you group them in categories.
So you can have one where you swap between your most used vehicles, tractor, combine and truck, and then the other one for less used vehicles.
However they haven't been on ModHub the last time I checked, it could have changed now though.

Instead of tab 11 times you can left shift ,tab to go to switch to previous vehicle.You can set another key to this in the options-keybinding.
The mod categories is a FS17 mod and I have not found it in FS19 but I have not looked so much.

OK, well, that sounds better, hopefully the trailer is behind harvester in the list :D I am not sure what makes the TAB-list order here.. Date of purchase?
I tried the other tip above, ESC+switching to Map and clicking on the right vehicle, then ESC again but it did not work for me good enough.
I hope they can fix this in the next FS21?

Actually what makes the order is real simple... It is the order their entries are in the vehicles.xml
Sometimes the date of purchase doesn't matter or they get reordered later too, I am unsure what triggers it though.

Hmmm.. does this mean you could actually re-arrange their order in vehicles.xml ?

VehicleExplorer[github.com] mod lets you rearrange the order and disable vehicles you don't want to tab ever.

Yes, thank you I tried it, but found it as time-consuming as TAB. With this mod you have to press LAlt+v to get the list, then scroll down the list and click on the vehicle you want to go to. Not optimal in my opinion though :D

You can do more than that. Disable ("Park") vehicles you don't use at all or very often so you won't tab to them. Rearrange the list so when you tab you'll tab in the order you want to.

I don't really use the list. Just disable unwanted vehicles and rearrange. That's the best you'll gonna get. There's no other mod for it.

Okay, maybe I will give it another try then. I think it could be nice to arrange those needed just in harvest. It's when it gets hectic. Will try that so I have only 4 vehicles then :D

Yes, I technically did this once because it shoved my combine to the bottom of the list and I had other vehicles as well that wasn't that often used.
So I put it as nr 3, but it does take a little bit of "programming knowledge" to make sure the IDs are changed and moved to where it is needed.

I think there is a mod on the in-game modhub that allows you to "Park" vehicles with a simple keybind to keep from tabbing over them. I forgot what it is, though, but give me a moment and I'll try and get the name and author.

I haven't used or tried it, since I try and keep my machinery to a minimum and use the same tractor for most of my work. Even then, I don't mind tabbing.

Also, on a side note, somebody mentioned that you could Left Shift + Tab to scroll back one vehicle. Whenever I do that, it pulls up my Steam overlay (the Steam Overlay is somehow bound to Left Shift + Tab as well). I may have to rebind it in my settings, though...

Ok, so the mod I was thinking of is called "Park Vehicle" by VertexDezign. You can set which vehicles you want to keep from tabbing across with that mod.

I haven't used it, but if you want something to avoid tabbing through your entire garage, you could try that mod if you would like. I might even consider trying it out myself, now that I got to looking at it.
