Logging physics are too jittery!
The logging game within Farming Simulator 19 needs to be improved by getting rid of the more than annoying jittery physics when loading or moving logs. It can completely ruin the game when this happens. I would love to play strictly a logging company but I can't stand this poor game design any longer.

an alternative i like more but is not on mod hub is called "Enhanced Vehicles" i like it more because it also adds optional manual switching between driving forward and backwards. and makes it so if you play with a wheel. the gas pedal will always be the gas pedal and the brake is always the brake pedal (you no longer hold the brake pedal to reverse, you just press the gas after switching to reverse driving mode)

make sure that in the in game mod hub, you have pressed X once. to show all mod hub mods. instead of only the popular ones.

download this mod https://www.farming-simulator.com/mod.php?lang=en&country=ca&mod_id=97077

you can find it in the in game mod hub too. ever since i downloaded that mod. logging is much more stable for me.

and after i found that out, i downloaded a logging only map right away. where there is only a store and lumber mill. so you have to basically build your own roads and forestry industry by clearing the paths trough the forest and using large flat areas after clearing them out. it has been allot of fun. i am playing on a logging map right now.

oh also i believe taking the trees and making them into wood chips, is more profitable then selling the trees whole.

on my logging map i have a static wood chipper (the Global company one also on in game mod hub) and so i haul trailer loads of tree's to that thing. i have a crane set up there. and load it. then i sell the woodchips (before having industry that can do other things with logs and chips ofcourse)

Thanks for the advice. I'll see if I can get that one to work for me. Which logging only map are you working?

That's interesting that you find woodchipping more profitable. All of the videos that I have seen on logging say that 5 meter logs produce the most profit. I'll have to test and see what the difference is.

maybe some of the mods change the prices for me, i have so many mods its hard to keep track of everything. but taking the tall trees (i think they are 10-15 meters tall?) and chipping them up completely gives me more money then cutting that tree into 3 pieces and selling those.

but again i have mods that add stuff like pallet factories. and saw mills where they make boards and beams. maybe those change how much normal logs are worth. im also selling at a modded saw mill, not the base game one.

as for the map im currently working its called grizzly mountain.

if you want a map with more mixed hilly/flat terrain i suggest something like dark forest.

Thanks for the info. I can't find that mod in the in game mod hub. Maybe it goes by a different name than Realistic Game Engine? Also, I notice that it is a FS17 mod, but I'm playing FS19. Are you playing FS19?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thanks...I'll see if I can find those.

Found the mod. Thanks!

Don't see any Grizzly Mountain map, though.

Thanks bro! I tried the mod and it definitely reduces the jitters in handling logs. I'm still not very good at all the controls, but I can see that if I practice I'll eventually get good at that. I think you have solved the issue that was ruining logging for me, though. It's the mod called Added Realism of vehicles.

If you like logging you should check out FDR Logging.

https://www.fdrlogging.com/mods

Really cool forestry focussed mods. If I remember correctly the vehicles are much heavier than normal to improve the feel of forestry physics.

He also posts some great videos of forestry operations on YouTube which are very educational if you’re learning that style of forestry.

I believe the Grizzly Mountain map is an FDR map.
