Found one made by "TheSnake" called Giant's Island, believe it may have been a map for/from FS09? About the size of a regular map, surrounded by water, fields are mostly square, however the AI won't track well on two of them because they aren't 90 or 45 degree angles to something, more like a 22.5 degree. Using the 1.0 version newer ones still beta (I think) and have a train, old one doesn't. Not flat either although I prefer fields that way, but have not encountered any issues in the fields from rough terrain.

I avoid maps with too many collision points near or in fields, if AI workers could path around them fine they would be ok but they try to run straight through.

so you down vote them just because you dont like that style of map ? wow your special

No I downvote them to send a clear message to the mod author that the stupid items/objects with collisions right on the boundaries of fields or actually inside fields is a really annoying and pointless practice which they should refrain from doing. Fix the collision nonsense and I'll re-review the map and most likely then give it a thumbs up or a higher rating.

Jones Dairy Farm is a great example, when the map first released it was very nice to play. Then for some reason the author decided to go and make all the fences around fields, gates into and out of the farm and the hundreds of telegraph poles along the road sides and field edges have collision and now the map is an absolute nightmare to play because vehicles and equipment constantly crash and get stuck on things.

Makes no sense to me, why don't you go ahead and send them a message then? A simple downvote can mean alot of things. Plus there is alot of people who like those kind of maps..

Felsburnn so far as it is the best "editable" map I've played so far. Clover Creek and Marwell Manor are great maps if you want to play with the existing fields and buildings; however they both suck if you want to edit the map for your own flavor because there are large sections that you can't edit (unable able to remove hedges on Marwell, unable to buy other "farm yards" on Clover Creek.)

* Map editing includes putting down your own placables and moving field edges to your desires.

Now you say Felsbrunn is the best map for you so far, in terms of it being editable, it's for that reason I love Estancia. The ability to adjust fields, break up fields, merge fields is great on that map, also the fact there are a couple of large areas on the map you can buy with no fields on them, but if willing to cut down some trees, do some terraforming and stuff you can create some additional pretty large sized fields. So yeah I have to agree maps that offer freedom and flexibility to players who like to think outside the box and experiment definitely get a +1.

Bit sad to down-vote someone's creation just because it doesn't match your personal tastes. Some of these guys want to create environments matching the real world where you have power pylons, trees, hedges, oddball fields carved in wherever they'd fit or had boundaries shaped by ancient land-rights.
I get the impression some just want Kansas Simulator, with a billion featureless acres of wheat and a combine on autodrive while they sit there in a comatose state.

I've only played on Felsbrunn so far. Set my farm up on top of the mountain for that bit of a challenge.
Once the game and mod maps settle down with updates I might try Marwell, given that it's local land to me.

I have no problems with creators wanting to add decoration to their maps in the form of pylons, telegraph poles, sign posts, trees, hedges etc to add some character to their maps and make them look pretty. I just wish in and around areas where vehicles and equipment operate they wouldn't make them collisionable and with such huge collision boxes. Makes fields annoying to farm manually and almost impossible if you hand it over to the in game AI workers. The players who want to play super-realistically can still drive round these items as if they had a physical presence, but for people who hand over to workers they can relax and know the workers will work the field and not leave more of it then they work because they've been trying to avoid things.

Also what's wrong with Kansas? A Kansas map would be cool. The Kent Farm perhaps, right there in Smallville. The place where Superman grew up.

Personally i'm a sucker for maps that have tight roads and irregular shaped fields. I really like the challenge in this otherwise easy game. I think it's a great change to actually challenge yourself instead of getting bored to death on the perfect fields like on Felsbrunn.

It's honestly just a preference thing, you may not like these kind of maps, but i sure do. If i wouldn't like them, i would just play maps that have perfectly shaped fields. Would i complain? No, because there are plenty of maps to choose from. If a creator wants to cater to an audience, he should be able to.

And doing the headland for the workers is no big deal TBH. When i use workers on Marwell i just do the headland a couple of rounds and the AI works the field just fine.

Played a number of mod maps but nothing has been able to gain my attention more than Felsbrunn. Got 350 hours on it. Looking forward to some of my FS17 favs coming to FS19, like Old Stream.

Have you tried Südhemmern? It has 2 extra crops (tabacco, hops) and it will continue to expand with extra features.
