not only would it tax most computers it would melt consoles. but if you can... 16x the land and hopefully sell points and more crop types and mining forestry and more if multiplayer on a 16 x map you might never see any of the other players except at sell points lol...
ive yet to load a 16x map its highly suggested to only do so with no save games and no other maps and any mods for other maps uninstalled... because of how the game engine loads map elements and scripts.
ive used 4x maps in fs17 and its a huge thing in solo play plenty of room in mp.
after i find a solid set of modded equipment and placables using the maps i got installed now im fixing to jump into at least a 4x if not give a 16x a try... just to drive across the map with a load of grain and really give some modded trucks a workout. 200000l of corn in a dual trailer set up... see how many times i roll it lol.
Not quite accurate the standard 1x Size Map is in game 2km x 2km Square, because of the game engine any maps must follow a multiple of that, so the next map size up is 4x which of course is 4km by 4km sqaure, then there is 8x which is 8km by 8km square, then 16x which is 16km by 16km square. After that the next leap would be 32x and then 64x, 128x, 256x etc etc much like many other elements with a PC such as Memory sizing for example. There is no such thing as a 2x map, the confusion here comes from people referring to the standard one square map as 2x because it's 2km by 2km
I recently took a look at and did a video looking at a 16x map: https://youtu.be/SqZm3aQLzfg
I've also done a few series playing on 4x Maps which show their scale and how difficult and time consuming they can be to play in single player mode.
like a Shirt. 2x means double , 3x means 3 times , 4x means four times bigger than the original..
do you see a pattern here ?
i do. ;)
