Recommended production maps
As the title says can people recommend decent production maps please?
Just been playing ricci's prairie but it was missing something 😕
There must be some hidden gems out there that I haven't played.
Generally I'm not fussed on mining but still quite enjoy it. Love factory chains with big fields and seasons.
Thanks in advance for any tips ☺

I've asked a similar question and gotten a few suggestions:
-Yukon River Valley
-Pleasant Valley County
-Ricci's Hollow (not sure if/how it's different than prairie)
-Hof Bergman

I haven't played all of these, but YT has videos on them.

Not tried riccis hollow but would assume its similar to prairie. Tried hof Bergman a while back and didn't really enjoy it. Yukon is absolutely massive and again it didn't float my boat.
I'm sure I've tried a pleasant ville map but not sure. I'll look into that one

Thanks for the reply :steamhappy:

Ricci's Hollow is much more production heavy and with pre-made fields. The overall theme is a little similar but not the same, and for example the many dozens of separate production mods that you can download from the trello site will *not* work on Prairie (such as the new House Of Nuts, the Lemonade Factory, Smuckers, Sandwich Shop, etc). If you like extensive long-term production chains, Hollow is the choice hands down.

PV County is also an excellent map for production. It's 16x so it's quite massive. Lots of fields and lots of build-your-own factories. Map sorely lacks detail but that is to be expected as focus went to gameplay and well, meticulously decorating a 16x map with 150+ products is just insane.

Ricci's Islands would be more in line with PV County since it's also a 16x map and it shares the same amount of products/factories as Hollow (Hollow, RicciVille and Ricci's Islands can all use each other's mods. Basically you just choose which of those 3's theme suits you better, as the gameplay aspect is the same).

My favorite is Ricci's Hollow (PV County would be my 2nd favorite, then Ricci's Islands as 3rd). Close to 200 products, beautiful map design and layout and OldMan frequently releases even more new products/factories for it. You can't go wrong with any of these 4 maps, they have by far the most extensive, long-term production chains around. Absolutely no other maps match them if your aim is sheer super large scale production with huge variety. Ricci's Hollow also comes with a super nice vehicle pack with all sorts of modded machinery to aid you in such large scale operations and to balance production work with farm work.

After spending Around 200 hours between ricci hollow and PV County i decided to try something different so trying the new alaska delta junction map. It is a 4x map with multifruit and production

I had heard Slovak village was pretty decent production map.

Anyone have any thoughts on that one compared to the others noted?

i can also recommended Slovak Village (1.1.0 is season ready) ... already dive almost 100hrs in it and i like it - it has ravensberg feel plus production chain (pallets production, gold mining, soy milk + milk products, orchards with greenhouses, meat production ..etc) ... and its less laggy
...
havent tryed ricci´s hollow, yukon etc. maps mention above, but i guess slovak village is good compromise in between to shaloow & too complex

"Good compromise between too shallow and too complex" is correct. Same goes for the recently released Alaska Delta Junction map.

Maps like Ricci's and PV County are overwhelming, with almost 200 products like different pizzas, meat processing, ore mines, sawmills, oil refineries, smuckers, canned food, smoothies, and so on, it's not for everyone. If you want a little taste of productions to compliment field work, then the above 2 maps would be much better as Ricci's and PV can get very, very convoluted with 50+ factories running. They'll also be less demanding to run.

I've played Yukon Valley alot lately. It's bit overwhelmed for just single player - too many things to do at same time. When they released new version (3.0), I decided to start over and tried to focus on farming and forestry. But wanted to do mining...

I’m a fan of Slovak. Lots of different things to do and it’s not to overwhelming. I always play solo and have no issues getting things done. The production is fairly basic but changes things up nicely. I’m now working up to buying the sawmill and do some forestry.

Thanks guys for all the replies. Didn't know Slovak village was a production map. I'll look into that.
I just assumed ricci's prairie would be a progression on from hollow. Seeing as you guys are saying hollow is probably a better map I'll look at that. I actually continued on prairie and started to get a feel for it.
I actually started a save on alaska delta Junction but found an issue at the gold mine stone trigger literally within my first 30 mins of playing. I was gonna wait for an update and delve back into it.

Think i'll swerve pv county and yukon due to playing SP all the time. Found yukon overwhelming.

Looking forward to FS22 with production chains from the start and seasons. Fingers crossed it delivers

For maps like PV and YRV, the overwhelming map size and some inputs put me off. Needing six inputs for a greenhouse just seems excessive. Clearly some of these maps are much less suited to SP than MP.

They are so nice though.

Yeah, Ricci's Prairie isn't a progression from the others, it's a different style and theme all-together with its own set of mods that aren't compatible with Hollow/Ville/Islands. Definitely check Hollow out if you want tons of factories/products in a condensed 4x map.

PV County has tons more products and factories than Yukon (a nice little thing of PV is that some of its factories have detailed custom interiors that you build part by part), so yeah it is overwhelming, although I love it for SP long-term saves where I always have things to do and work towards. But that's just my taste of course, PV and Hollow can easily give you 1000-2000 hours of play time.

Any of these maps will pretty much require (IMO) the use of AutoDrive and FollowMe at a minimum. Once you start mapping out routes you can multitask fairly easily.

A little bit off topic - I downloaded the Ricci's Hollow, but I don't seems to be able to get it work. I downloaded via Trello. Not sure if I did wrong.... Maybe anyone can give me a link to a good download?

Trello is the site to get it from. Did you download all the required packs, as well as the single-factory mods and packs? Or more importantly, what doesn't work?
JMH714 Jul 29, 2021 @ 7:11pm
Did not know I need to download other required packs.

When I got in the game, the screen look like dimmed dark, can't move - can pan around with mouse. But I can hit ESC once, after that it just stuck in dimmed dark and can't hit ESC to menu or quit.

I'll go back to Trello and see what else I can download.

<<Edited to add>>
Updated, yeah, it got fixed. Wish that they'd be more clear with what need to be added. I kind of missed that part. (shrug).
