If you definitely have to have FS19 now, then consider just getting the base version of the game. The DLCs don't add noteworthy things in terms of gameplay, so they're only worth getting if you absolutely have to have specific officially licensed brands of equipment in your game.
In either case, do not - under any circumstances - expect a terrain system like in Snowrunner, because the game doesn't have one.
Crossplay is not possible. As for discord servers, I don't know. People do ask for other players to join them on here, though.
I would suspect many players will stick with FS19 for a long time after FS22. At least until a larger group of the mods get changed over to the new game.
by that i mean that the players keep playing and the mod authors keep modding and communities keep servers up and running for along time after the next version of the game releases. this time will be no different, mods slow down as new versions ramps up,
severs lessen in number as new game ones pop up. players eventually migrate to the new game. i have since 2015. i buy when the newest game is on a good discount and move on.
if you are looking for a chill vibe in game and relaxing environments this game has it in spades.
if youre looking for a chill vibe and that zen feeling theses an early access game called power wash simulator. its super chill and totally addicting. its pretty much the vehicle power washing in this farm game but done with that one thing in mind, power washing... so instead of dirt layers slowly fading away like in this game, in power wash game you feel like you are actually cleaning the dirty stuff. give it a look. its a lot less then this game and in the same "simulator chill zone" as this game.
There's tons and tons of mods that can alter the game. Whether you just want more heavy machinery, or new maps, or completely modded production/mining maps where you can escalate farming to producing anything like vodka, pizzas, steel factories, bacon, and 150+ more. Mods to help automate/aid in bigger farms like AutoDrive and Courseplay, mods to increase realism, etc. As such, like others have mentioned, I'd migrate over FS22 once the modding scene has mature, likely 1 year after release, or whenever my favorites become available.
