How hard is it to get into this game?
I love the idea of farming games. I loved Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon a lot. However I tend to be more invested in the actual farming aspect than the social aspects of the game. I have been curious about this series for a while and want to maybe dip my toes into 19. I am quite a slow learner so I was wondering if this game is easy for newcomers like myself to get into? Would the in-game tutorial be enough to help me learn the game?

There's a bit of a learning curve if you don't know anything about real life farming. The in-game tutorials can get you started, but honestly, they're pretty weak, and they leave out many, many things that you don't HAVE to know, but should. I'd recommend you check out some YouTube videos to get a feel for the game. I will throw in that my Ravenport Walk-Through for Beginners has helped hundreds of people learn the game, and I've received a lot of positive feedback on them. Your choice, of course. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the heads up. I will check out your video in the future and I will watch a few guides before and after I purchase the game.

This game is incredibly easy: it is made mainly for children (not a secret: this is the main reason why they never went down the pure sim route and you need mods to achieve realism). Just pick the first difficulty setting and follow the short in game tutorial at the beginning.

I agree with the above. Walk throughs and tutorials on YouTube are likely your best bet to get a feel for the game mechanics before buying.

If there are aspects of the game you are interested in, such as: Forestry, Agriculture, Baling, Animals. You SHOULD look up the walk through videos associated with those things. You may like the idea of it and have expectations. Manage those expectations by seeing how things actually work in the game.

Farmer Cop made a series of YT videos for beginners about specific aspects of gameplay - might be just the right place to start

Not gunna lie, was going to come in and say the same, I have had a few goes at this game but it was after watching Farmer Cop that made me realise how much fun this game can be (and how relaxing it is too)

Here is his Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/FarmerCop

Some proper great tutorials and even goes into depth with some mods if you wish to get more out of it. In answer to your main question though, this game is very easy to get into. The thing that overwhelmed me were the control combinations, but after a while you get used to them.

i think it is easy for newcomers it has easy medium and hard for newcomers i'd do easy so yeah it is easy i figured it out on my own with no videos so the best one to do if your a newcomer is do easy then want more of a challenge then hard not that hard with having it with it's difficulty being on easy and if want a challenge do hard but easy is good for newcomers since start out with some land machines every thing you'd need

Depends if you had no clue how farming worked and common sense starting would be hard. Just having a basic understanding of real life will help alot. If you ever get stuck you can always go to youtube or this fourm. But yes I would buy farming simulator can be even better when played with freinds.

If you even have the slightest interest in any aspect of farming, you will probably get hooked on this game. For a new beginner, there is a bit of a learning curve, but after that, its fun fun fun. You can play as realistic or unrealist as you like. The choice is yours. You can start out with millions in your bank account or you can start out with almost nothing and try to work up to buying tractors and farm equipment that you need. I prefer as realistic as possible and starting with very little money. I enjoy the challenge.

I started recently and haven't found it too hard. The in game tutorials get you started, then I watched a little YouTube to check a couple more things. Occasionally, I have to Google for a specific thing.

But generally, I'm learning as I go. The map gives you all the important information you need about your fields, such as if it needs ploughing. I've just started playing around with the landscaping tool to edit fields.

Expect to restart a few times initially as you learn things, but you'll get going pretty quick!

Also, have a look at the mods - they're really well integrated into the game and can be downloaded from an ingame menu. Some are really useful, again there's videos for that, but one of my favourites displays an information box in the corner telling me about what I'm looking at (e.g. state of growth in a field, or condition of a tractor). So useful.

It was pretty easy for me to get into, especially after watching some good YouTubers. Didn't take long to start adding realism mods to make it much harder, actually. :)

So gameplay-wise, you'll be fine... IMO, the real issue is that to play *comfortably*, you need a steering wheel/pedals controller at minimum, and preferably a side-panel with a bunch more buttons and a joystick (for telehandlers/front loaders/cranes, etc.). For me, using just the keyboard and mouse was frustrating as heck until I started using another $300+ worth of hardware.

I get this, although for the sake of balance I find mouse and keyboard fine to use with a bit of tweaking and practice.

Something that took me a bit of time to figure out is that some of the in game options for things like steering etc are only available once you've loaded into a map. I really wish all options could be set globally from the main menu. For example, I turned up the steering return option to 100%, although that's not as easy at higher speeds I find it easier at low speeds where most of the game is played.
