Playing together offline?
Is there any way to play with two people not using internet but connecting computers together using LAN? If not, how much data does this game use that I could buy HOT SPOT space for my phone, please?

Yes it has a lan option and I have no idea

Thank you for responding, Andros. When I try to use the LAN without any internet, it says unable to use.

Are your two computers physically connected together?
In the old days we would use a CAT5 crossover cable to directly connect two computers directly together.
Reference:I have also connected multiple computers directly together by using a router, which basically takes the place of the crossover cable & does all the traffic switching internally. Most routers have at least 4 connectors.

I can physically connect them, but when loading into farm sim 19, says I don’t have any internet and won’t let me continue

You might have to route the computers through a router which also allows your Internet access. Thus the two computers would be on the same level, but still have access to each other directly.

Thank you, Merck. I will try this.

just throwing this out there have you tried to launch the game on both pcs with steam in offline mode? im pretty sure the game need the internet to connect to the giants servers for the mod hub. that and the mp thing from the menu. but if steam is in offline mode maybe that will avoid the game trying to connect to giants servers and thus allow the lan connection to handshake and players to join each other?

i am NO expert in lan connections its been so long since i played in a lan set up and even then i didnt set it up ;)
but putting the launcher into offline mode... just a thought and for sure cant hurt to try.

No, there is no "LAN" option. You can't play together without using the internet.

Even when running a dedicated server on the same machine as the client, you still need to connect them via the Giants infrastrucure over the internet. It's just one more point on a long list of stupid design decisions of this game.

This has nothing to do with the online mode from Steam. It's exactly the same, when using the DVD version.

As you can chose "Lan 100/100bit/s" in Internet connection, it should be possible.
I guess you can´t share 1 copy of the Game to play together.
And back then i played Lan we setup a local network, was it called MS homenet or somthing like that, to find each other in game, don´t know if that is still a thing.

you still need to connect to the matchmaking servers to find the lan game. so internet is required

I appreciate the effort but it seems like Topher is correct. Was worth a shot. Was just hoping the wife and I could do this during our extended camping trip when no internet is available. Thank you for your efforts
