It took time but more money are always better than none.
I suggest the Straw Me mod, that add canola, soy and mais straw, and sell for a pretty well price.
Ok, thanks mate! I will try that and hard work is the life of a farmer so why not?
Summary:
I work only 3 ha field and my normal yield or income is about 38,700 Eur per harvest if I sell at peak demand. Now, with the straw harvest, I got 195m3 straw sold which gave me +9,300 Eur, approx +25% income! I had to buy a straw barn and a Strautmann pickup wagon and it takes me 4 trips to the selling point with my big Strautmann trailer 52 m3.
I think, overall, this straw-business is very good and also adds realism to the whole "harvesting cycle" which only takes about 15 min longer in real time
Is it better price for straw-bales than loose straw? Maybe then I will consider baling, but.. more machines will cost me more..
Thank's, yes I have been there and sold my loose straw by trailer. Good extra income this
Nopes, I have tried seasons a lot. It is nice with the weather and season changes but I find it very time consuming in real time. I don't want to go logging in the winter either, so for me it is a waste of time. I wish 'Seasons' were going a bit quicker here, then I would try it again.
The only case in the base game where baling and wrapping makes a very clear difference is grass, as baling and wrapping grass turns it into silage, which earns much more.
Did you try adjusting the season lengths in-game when you were using the mod?
OK friend, in that case I will continue like this selling loose straw by big trailer.
Yeah, I did that change in 'Seasons' to the shortest length, but still got "restless" during winter time
Well, thank you my friend! :)
the mod "Straw Me" worked well! I did another harvest with Canola here and it made me +41,000 Euro at peak but the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ canola straw made me +51,000 Euro richer!
so.. the straw can make more money than the actual harvest!!!!
I think this is good and my harvest has become much more active.. l like having to keep up with my Fortshritt harvester to pick up the grain and also picking up the straw before my helpers sowing next crop..
It makes my harvest time full of action with 3 Fiatagri 180-90DT tractors and stretching my old pilot "simultane capacity" to it's limits
Thanks again for a good tip! Now, we finally are making money here!
Yes, it might be so..not very realistic either :(
Anyway, I will continue with the mod. Last Oat harvest I got +17% from the straw of Oat, so it feels pretty good except for the Canola..
Well, I checked the market prices today for rape seed (Canola) and straw:
Rape seed is sold at 410 Euro/ton and rape seed straw in 20 kg sacks = 1,000 Euro/ton!!
In game I got 1,911 Euro/ton for 32 m3 Canola with a density of 670 kg/m3 so the game selling price is about 5 times higher than real life!
Rape seed straw I sold 46m3 at 1,645 Euro/ton which is 1,6 times higher than market price for 20kg sacks, so..yes.. Canola is overpriced in game!
I was thinking about that Canola straw and thought it might be a good product with some oil in it too, but the farmers are warned for the types of Herbicide used in production:
"Many farmers may be considering buying rape straw for animal feed or bedding. If so, they should ask the supplier an important question: What herbicide – or herbicides – were applied to the growing crop?
With straw in high demand, farmers are looking at alternative options apart from cereal straw. Oilseed rape straw is on the market and is ‘pricey’ in many cases."
Quite interesting this that a pc game can make me research the market prices of Rape seed and straw but FS19 does not have any sort of "Eco-friendly" farming right? :)
I see the straw prices I get in FS19 vary a lot , Oat straw= 87 Euro/m3 , Canola straw=256 Euro/m3 and Wheat straw= 67 Euro/m3 but it varies a lot over time. Maybe that high Canola straw price was some kind of "peak demand"? We will see how it developes here but I really like the straw handling business anyway.. It feels better this way.

Thanks for your tip on the "Straw Me" mod! Also check my previous post!
