PS4 Controller interface issue

For some reason, my ps4 controller is having a huge issue with this game now, its hardly working, I Press X to skip through the intro, but the cursor doesn't work, or the L1 or R1 buttons either.

I look under the controls and gamepad settings but it says it's configured (R1+ Triangle to unload tipper) but the R1 button isn't working.

I had to upgrade my laptop so its been wiped and had to download a new version of the game. Before this it was fine.

The controls will only barely register when the controller is plugged into the laptop via USB lead, it didn't have to be before it was serviced.

Can someone please help what this could be?

I believe someone mentioned in another forum to make sure that "controllers" are checked in the options.

Also, I wonder if going into Steam & setting the options there for controllers would help also?

My FS19 was a digital download from Giants website. I've been into the options in Steam to disable an option where everytime I pressed the PS button, Steam would open up.
