This is the one I use, and it's working just fine. I don't use Global Company.
You don't need to rename it or anything if you get it from the proper source. Just drop it in your mod folder and it works.
Global Company does indeed force include it's own take on the Place Anywhere Mod, called Extended Placeable. However it's nowhere near as good or as functional as Place Anywhere. So despite Global Company trying to scare players by showing a warning if you load the game with Place Anywhere installed, you can continue to use Place Anywhere just fine. I have used both Place Anywhere and Global Company for a year now and not had any issues, just leave the Global Company option disabled in it's menu in game.
When it comes to Global Company all those additional mods it sneakily includes like Horse Helper, More Trees, Object Info and stuff, I always turn that ♥♥♥♥ off as it has nothing to do with the Factory/Production Stuff the mod is supposed to do. If you actually know a bit about modding and how to open the zip files, you can actually remove all these extra scripts from the Global Company Mod completely.
But it's funny that these "Other Versions" came out long before the Global Company Versions and from different people. If you're going to say that Place Anywhere and the other mods were re-workings of Global Company Mods from FS17, then really that's fair game. If someone took mods for FS17, updated them and expanded them for FS19 and released them first. That's just unlucky on Global Company, perhaps they should have been on the ball quicker to update their mods for FS19.
What I don't understand and what no one will ever answer is why when we had Place Anywhere which released in December 2018, so has been out well over a year. Why when Global Company released their mod in August 2019 with their version Extended Placeable, why didn't Extended Placeable have the same features as Place Anywhere? Extended Placeable is a backwards step, because unlike Place Anywhere, you can't use Extended Placeable to place objects and buildings on land you don't own and unlike Place Anywhere you can't use Extended Placeable to turn off the land deforming and terrain sculpting when placing objects or buildings. These two features are why Place Anywhere is 1000x better then Extended Placeable. If Global Company could update their mod to include these two options, then yes we could all stop using Place Anywhere and use their mod. However they don't seem to want to do this because despite all the updates to Global Company since that mod first came out, they've not updated any of the additional scripts and mods they've sneaked into their mod. Just check the time stamps on those mods, they were created and last modifiend on the 12th August 2019, when Global Company first released. We've had 4 Official Updates since then to the mod on Giants ModHub, plus their own Unofficial Updates on their GitHub page, yet they've never updated any of these 5 bundled in extra mods.
