Seasons Help
So I installed the seasons mod along with the US pack and started a game. The problem I seem to have is that crop growth seems to be at normal speed, but the season length is default 9 days.. By the time crops get to the point of harvest it's winter. I've tried increasing and decreasing the number of days per season, but the growth time is still stupid slow I'm not against waiting, but their is only so much to do between grow times.

Is their a file I can edit to speed up growth again?

Are you sure that you are planting the crop at the right time? If you plant corn or soybeans, for instance, in the first two parts of spring then they will never germinate.
Time is extremely important in Seasons. The growth period of crops adjusts to whatever number of days you have selected, so you can't speed up growth. It's mature when it's mature. You might want to keep the season length at default, as reducing the calendar timescale also reduces the dry weather windows for harvesting and making hay.

You'll need to open up the Alt+S screen and plan out the year using the calendar and crop rotation planner. Specific growing and harvesting seasons depend on your geo mod. If you're running US Midwest, I recommend starting with soybeans in the summer and canola over winter.

Oh, and definitely shorten your season to 3 days while you are figuring it out. Alt S will bring up the menus and information screens.

Paying careful attention to the weather and what should be planted is part of what keeps Seasons interesting, imo. I find using 9-day season on 5x speed is a pretty good balance for flexibility in getting things done and not getting trapped by weather.

You may want to use a speed mod in addition to using the farmhouse to rest. Ramping up time to 1200x really burns time nicely.
Got a question of my own. Does cutting a crop for silage count as harvesting for rotation and liming purposes?

Yes.

Ok, I'll have to take a look. I tried throwing it down to 3 days, increased the speed with a mod, and I hit winter before anything grew to harvest. It all died and I was back to square one.

On a side note, winter didn't have snow on the ravenport map, and how do I know which season sub mod works for which map? I gathered the US was for Ravenport, but they have several out now, but none say which works on which map. Or does it just take that regions season and weather type and apply it to where you are no matter the map?

Much of choosing a geo will be personal preference although they are supposed to follow more closely the regions they are made for. From my experience so far there is a lot more randomness to weather than the fs17 version and I haven’t seen much consistency or extremes in snow and rain. One time in fs17 it snowed so much that I couldn’t drive my crops to market. Haven’t seen anything like that here. Salt in the fs19 version is a bit of a bust to as it is seems to be more expensive than fertilizer.
