How to use the tree loader arm (SOLVED)
I am doing the forestry tutorial and its so frustrating. They just tell you "cut down the tree with the vehicle" and then "load the trees and sell them" like its that easy. I cant work out how to get the loaders claw to close or anything. I found out on accident how to use the counter weight, because it never tells you how to do that either. Help please ;-;

EDIT:
Wanted to add the result to the main post in case anyone else needs it.

Left mouse button, left/right: Moves entire arm left and right
Left mouse button, up/down: Extends the hydraulic arm out to lengthen it
Right mouse button, up/down: Moves entire arm up and down
Right mouse button, left/right: Nothing happens
HOLD BOTH mouse buttons, up/down: Open/close claw
HOLD BOTH mouse buttons, left/right: Rotates claw

I use an auto-loader trailer to collect the trees. Just to prevent myself from throwing my PC out of the window ;-)

I always watch at the top of the control box (upper left of screen), for the mouse icons. There should be a couple combinations with each button (either moving mouse up/down or right/left). So its either right or left mouse button for most of the controls.

Which would be great, but the tutorial doesnt give you that option.

There are no combinations that I could find to move the claw to close. I messed with it for 15 minutes before giving up in frustration.

Try hold down left mouse, move right to open, left to close. If courseplay installed this gets a bit awkward cos left mouse button opens up that hud

Else the tutorial could be glitched. Try it in a proper game

This is what happens when I use the mouse for anything.
Left mouse button, left/right: Moves entire arm left and right
Left mouse button, up/down: Extends the hydraulic arm out to lengthen it
Right mouse button, up/down: Moves entire arm up and down
Right mouse button, left/right: Nothing happens

EDIT:
Ugh I found it. You have to HOLD BOTH mouse buttons and move the mouse up and down to open and close the claw. Moving it left and right rotates and claw. I wish it would just say this in the dang game.

Hence all the little images of mice, with select buttons highlighted in orange.

Actually when I was playing last night, those images did not behave properly. I reopened the game today and tried again and I could see the menu change depending on which buttons I pressed. I dont know why it wasnt doing that last night.

Computers are still good for messing up things at various times. It sure makes life interesting at times.

If you have a corded xbox controller or a console controller with a usb wireless adapter for pc it makes controls for fork & arm lifts much easier in my humble opinion.
