'start from scratch'
... still gives ya $500,000. I was lead to believe it'd be$5000 or something, and have to work up from doing jobs with loaned equipment... like, REALLY start from scratch... It is what it is, but I feel 'start from scratch' is a slightly misleading title, that's all.

Indeed. Wait for a mod that lets you set the starting money, I guess. I want to start out with nothing and have to take a loan.
same sort of deal here, yeah. Cheers

That 500k is actually loan.
not in my game it's not. no loan on the page, and no ability to repay anything... I tried that already

Just go your savegame, for example first save slot:
documents / mygames / FarmingSimulator19 / savegame1 / careerSavegame.xml
and change this line near the end
<money>500000</money>
to whatever you like - have fun!

Just cheat the money in the xml file to whatever suit your liking.
Very good. I generally don't like to mess with files like that, but that's just my OCD at work, lol. Thanks for the tip, Calaelan, I'll look at that if I'm curious enough :)

Other way is to lease and return vehicles/tools repeatedly until you run out of cash if you don't want to edit files.

that did nothing for me. I sat it at 7 000. It said in the savegame slot that i had 7k, but i still had 500k ingame.

I managed to remove money the good old fashioned way, buy and sell vehicles until you have nothing left :p

Now i regret it, cause jobs pay not nearly enough in this game, you need to grind for a LONG time to even get the first and cheapest piece of land.

did a close to an hour and half cotton harvest contract. got 6800. weee.. not
This need some serious balancing

I, for one, don't mind some grind to my game :)

Would be nice if there were cheaper vehicles (forklift, mower, old tractor) like in Farmer's Dynasty when you first start you do repair jobs for other farmers in exchange for old equipment.

Guys need to edit the farm.xml if you are going to change money. I also set mine to lower and it worked perfectly fine. The careerSavegame.xml doesn't change it anymore.

Nope, it doesn't work. They hashed the save game. Iedited first thing, it will show in the career field too. As soon as you load the saved game the money edit has vanished leaving you the amount you had.

Some person posted this in another thread:
"Same location as '17, but you have to edit both careerSavegame.xml and farms.xml, and ensure that the money matches in both files. farms.xml will have a number followed by a period and several 0's. Just change everything to the left of the decimal to match what you've changed in the career file".
