Tree and Poplar planting and care questions.
Can you plant trees and poplars anywhere on the ground? Or are they regulated to fields only? Also, can trees and poplars benefit from being fertilized? Or are they generally low maintenance after you plant them?

I've also heard that poplars regrow on their own without having to cultivate and plant again. Is this true?

You can plant trees anywhere you own the land and the ground is soil or grass (not concrete, not asphalt, not stone etc).

Poplars in the game are meant as a field crop so can only be planted on fields, they are planted very close to one another like a "bush" with the goal of chopping them into wood chips. The Anderson pack DLC adds a poplar baler. Poplars will regrow in FS19.

Awesome! Thanks for answering. I have been thinking about getting into logging in my save game on Ravenport, but didn't want to waste money or deforming the land before finding out. lol

Well, I may be investing in growing a field of poplars. I love a good renewable source of income!
