I personally find the time you save doing logs over trying to use the chipper, that can be a huge pain in the buttocks, worth any difference chips might have over logs.
So perhaps during great demand, woodchips is more profitable than logs?
Into thirds? What do you mean?
I tried putting the whole tree in (worked fine) and a full trailer got me around... 17k lol
You get less money that way, over a certain lenght the money comes down, and also if it bends and so on, imagine the full lenght of the Log Trailer, now cut it into 3 parts, thats the ideal i've found.
Oh crap... Too bad I havent found this out earlier
#10th time up that hill...
But I just cut the tree when its inside the trailer then I guess
Yes ofc, you can even use the "poles" in the trailer as a measurement :D
of the log for an extra 21k.
Just the fliegl regular timber runner in the base game. What I meant was the 16 logs I loaded into the timber runner trailer were slightly longer than the trailer itself.

Only 4.000 € for a 30 min trip :(
RIP
I have a tractor with a front loader, a chainsaw, and a Lizard Warrior pulling a 12m log trailer. that's all you need.
I just finished a test. I cut a tree down, and then in half, giving me two lengths that will fit in my trailer, For the test, I took the narrow, light tree top section and sold it by itself. I then took another, shredded it into wood chips, and sold that. Both lengths were approximately equal (considering I cut by hand).
The length was too long to feed in to the chipper, so I halved it and pushed them on into the chipper. The final results:
The tree tip length whole: ~$750
Chipped Tree Tip: ~$190
Always, always, always sell lengths when you can. The Warrior/trailer when full scores around 30k per trip, and the front-loader is a LOT easier to manage than those wimpy, obnoxious forestry cranes that force you to cut down to 5-6m lengths for twice the work.
I sold/gave back all the other forestry equipment, including tree cutters and log trailers, because the front-loader + warrior setup gave the best returns and was the easiest to manage, on top of being versatile enough that I can use the truck to haul grain and the tractor to work fields if I'm not working at the tree farm plot.
